I'd like to request the parents to increase the story-telling time at home. It has got its own benefits and is recommendable in all ways for the preshoolers.Kids need to see their parents reading, and they need to be read to themselves as early as possible. Young school-aged children benefit from responsive reading of stories with their parents. Such literacy-nurturing activities have to be repeated to foster optimal language development.
The idea that parents should hurry reading, spelling, writing, or math ahead of children’s normal development is not supported by a single replicable research study in the world or by any clinical experience in history. All history, research and common sense points in the opposite direction! We repeat: Better Late Than Early and School Can Wait.

Your blog on how to guide your child was useful.
Incase of toddlers, how do you increase their attention span? So that they sit through the entire story...
Dont just tell them a story orally, instead go with a picture book, containing more of pictures(big ones) and less of the text.Describe each event with actions and take care of ur facial expressions(they help u a lot).And moreover encourage them to come up with as many queries as possible.
